CONSERVATION INTITATIVES
The Monadnock Region is known for the richness of its natural beauty. There are many organizations from town conservation commissions to state and federal organizations helping to preserve the landscape. Current projects include a major initiative to preserve the Ashuelot River watershed, some of which is pristine, and the Quabbin to Cardigan corridor a largely unbroken wilderness stretching from the Quabbin Resevoir in Massachusetts to Cardigan Mountain in New Hampshire.
For more information on these projects see the Ashuelot River Watershed Project and the Quabbin to Cardigan Collaborative. A balance can be achieved between development and preservation but it takes a concerted effort on the part of many hands working together to preserve precious places. If you have land that you are interested in protecting and want further information please contact me. I would be happy to help you find the best resources available to assist in making that decision.
